Welcome tomboy tribers! It’s edition #30 of our weekly Inspiring Tomboy Style Looks of the Week and boy is it hot out here in the tropics! We just took a trip to Bali and it’s scorching hot. Just nice for the beach bums, but with our friends around the Northern Hemisphere things are cooling down quite a bit so we’ve got here a nice mix of cold and hot-weather tomboy styles to get inspired by.
In case you didn’t know what this series is all about – well, we started it to celebrate and appreciate the women who are inventing their own timeless inspiring classic tomboy style looks. So check out the cool tomboy styles of this week’s amazing personalities down below and hashtag us at #tomboytarts on Instagram with full-length pictures of yourselves if you want to be *featured.
Ok tribers, whip out your magnifying glasses for some cool eye candy tomboy outfits of the day we selected for ya!
By golly! Bonniebeats, our favourite tomboy DJ and producer who kicks it up a notch again, this time in a faded and cool as ice look in the heart of Miami. Get a Dundee hat, leather zip up ankle boots, a white shirt, faded 80s throwback skinny jeans and aviators and you’re set to rock the club scene, Florida style. Boom!
Nella Ngingo is a fashion model who really knows how to do tomboy chic well. See picture above and start drooling now. There’s a shaken, not stirred classic martini gents look to this classic tomboy look and we love it. In fact, Raven and Persis are throwing a look together now. Follow Nella’s style adventures on Instagram and ask her what her inspiration styles are.
Marissa Lauren is a graphic designer. Foodie. TV addict. Feminist and tomboy who curated this lovely classic tomboy style perfect for the Thanksgiving season. You can never go wrong with the black turtleneck with velvet skinny pants and boots to stay warm and snug on Turkey day. Check out more of Melissa’s curated pictures on Instagram.

Rina Fukushi, is a Japanese model that models tomboy chic very well and in this shot taken by master street fashion photographer, Jaiperdumavaste, the leather bomber jacket paired off with a classic white shirt and tweed pants screams 1920s Amelia Earhart and we love this classic tomboy look to the max!
Another ‘blow-our-minds’ tomboy doing her own thing in New York is Righteous Savage. The Brooklyn-born native places anonymity above all else. In an age of social media where we’re judged constantly by our looks, here’s someone who’s doing away with facetime, literally. Her rebellious anti-selfie stance on Instagram is a strong statement about that and we love it because it’s about the personality inside and the natural style that is born out of it that matters. Nothing else. This is cool tweed jacket and fedora styling that we dig and wear here at Tomboy Tarts when the weather permits.
TILDA SWINTON VIA PHIL OH – @MRSTREETPEEPER
Hello Tilda and her merry band of city swinging style mates. Tilda is undoubtedly an icon in the tomboy world. Her exceptional acting skills have made her a household name in Hollywood but it’s also her unusual androgynous look and style that has captured the imaginations of photographers and fashion designers all over the world. In this photo taken by Phil (aka MrStreetPeeper) Tilda sports a dust coat befitting her six foot frame with a simple all-black pant and shirt combo with sharp-looking brogues to match.
