OK sisters! You ready? Let’s hit play button.
Since Jade Lai founded Creatures of Comfort in Los Angeles in May 2005, the store has been widely considered a haven for those seeking hard-to-find labels with standout personalities. Five years later, in the Fall of 2010, Lai opened the Creatures of Comfort Flagship store on Mulberry Street in New York City.
Each Creatures of Comfort collection springs from a foundational concept, with sleekly minimalist modernism, a quirky practicality, and the pursuit of the playfully elegant perennially recurrent in Lai’s thoughtful designs as she creates unique, but wearable, pieces meant to become mainstays in a woman’s wardrobe. Their first runway show was for Fall Winter 2014 and here in this ensemble, time travel back to the Annie Hall fun days with flared jeans and tucked tops. Tomboy style never looked so retro!
When it comes to hip new styles, Pull&Bear is the brand that appeals to those aged millennials and below looking for retro-new vintage styles they wouldn’t dare scrounge around their parent’s attics for. In this outfit of the day, pair an oversized hoodie with flannel shirt and sporty black jeans. Don’t attempt this look unless you’re in teen tomboy land. Check out more styles on the Pull&Bear vintage-gram.
Songwriter, Sienna Liggins, kicks doors down on tomboy style with her uber cool urban styles. There’s some serious 90s TLC vibing going on in all of her Instagram looks. Here we see her in ripped jeans, hi-top boots along with a soft leather hoodie jacket. A cool look for day or clubby nights.
More Phil Oh aka MrStreetPeeper fashion shenanigans of the tomboy style type. It’s amazing how this motorcycle rider look never gets old, even off the track. With the streamlined racer ‘lean-mean’ sensibilities from the track, our model here is vibing some major bad assery here with this look. Finish the look off with a pair of equally ‘lean-mean’ rider boots for added viciousness. Nice!
Upcoming New York fashion brand, The Frankie Shop brings classic tailored tomboy style looks from its online store to brick and mortar. The brand curates clean line fashion like the one you see above which is perfect for work. It’s classic tomboy with a Katherine Hepburn vibe. African Queen it tomboys!
Want to gain more retro action? Then pair off tweed print pants with polka dots, diamond printed blazers and sunny yellow scarfs. MrStreetPeeper fixes his lens on an eye-catching outfit that doesn’t really kill your eyeballs even though the combination is really bold. Hey, at least you guys didn’t get conjunctivitis
