@AYMELINEVALADE BY @MRSTREETPEEPER
No this is not model, Aymeline Valade (@Aymeline Valade) re-enacting a scene from an 80s Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial but it sure feels like it with that stance. The brown leather jacket paired off with a navy blue turtleneck just screams “Come and get me, you mofos!” We say, now THAT’S tomboy stylin’ baby. Photo by our favourite street photographer of all time Phil [email protected]. (Why does he get all the good shots?)
@THECATZPAJAMAS VIA @JAIPERDUMAVASTE
@Jaiperdumavaste is Nabile Quenum, a street photographer who lives in Paris. Here, she has captured model Ana Cristina @TheCatzPajamas with a classic goth with black bob and denim printed jacket and dark red lipstick to evoke a Ghost in The Shell feel. There’s loads of tomboy styles being captured in her street photos from fashion events around the world and you can find them on her Instagram account. You won’t want to miss it.
The next awe-spiring tomboy style look comes from market editor of ELLE, Harriet Stewart whom we have featured before. She is back this time as she goes all ‘Famous Five George’ on us. This is quintessential British tomboy style with overalls and a casual pair of sneaks. We just wish she had the pigtails and squirrel teeth though! Check out Harriet’s uber-swagg-a-licious Instagram account here.
Ladyhawke is an inspiring electro musician who gave us 2010’s ‘Ladyhawke’ and 2012’s ‘Anxiety’. She is back again with her third release ‘Wild Things’. Her style is typical punk/rock tomboy that takes her from music video to music club in a snap. Check out more about her on our Tomboy Musicians Series we did on her a few years back. You can also listen to her new album on Spotify and follow her on Instagram.
You can never go wrong with black shirts and denim to achieve the cool rock n roll look like @TheMonarchto here. The short layered punk hairstyle works wonderfully as well to kick the tomboy style vibes up a few notches.
@LERAABORVA VIA @JAIPERDUMAVASTE
Model Lera Abova describes herself as ‘wild at heart’ on her Instagram account and we can see that just through her solid 80s new wave punk stylings that are channeling a bit of Annie Lennox here. To achieve that cool androgynous boy-buzzcut, Lera has on a leather jacket and animal-print sling accessory pouch. Blue door backdrop not included of course, but it helps. Photo by @Jaiperdumavaste.
